Newcastle No.114

No.114 was built by Hurst Nelson & Company in Motherwell in 1901 for Newcastle where it was used until it was sold to Sheffield in 1941. It was rebuilt fully enclosed and was numbered No.317 where it ran until 1951, when the system closed.

The lower deck was sold to a farmer where it stayed until discovered and moved to Beamish in 1987 where it was restored and entered service in 1996.

The model was made from a KW Trams white metal kit modified to take a Halling Vario chassis.
