Sheffield No.264

No. 264 was built in 1907 by the United Electric car Company of Preston for Sheffield Corporation Tramways as an open topped double decker. It was rebuilt with a totally enclosed upper deck in 1926 and ran until renumbered 342.

When the system was closed in 1956 it was stored until moved to Consett in 1967. It arrived at Beamish in 1973 when, due to the poor condition of the upper deck it entered service as an open topper until 1985 when it received an open balcony upper deck and was renumbered 264. It was withdrawn in 2001 and received its first full restoration and returned to service on 9th April 2016.

The model was made from a mixture of Ambrico and KW Trams white metal parts and is fitted with a Halling Vario chassis.
